Destination: Plitvice, Croatia
At about a 2 hour drive from the capital of Croatia you will find the Plitvice Lakes National Park, the oldest and largest national park in the Republic of Croatia. The abundant lush forests covering the hills are home to bears, wolves and many rare bird species. Perhaps most well known are the stunning turquoise sixteen lakes. The lakes are connected through a series of waterfalls and cascades, the wooden footbridges and paths that follow the edges of the lake provide magnificent views of the natural beauty of Plitvice.
